Insurance Claims Adjuster

The position will be a Monday-Friday 8:
00am-4:
30pm.
We are looking for a candidate to have 1 year of claims adjusting experience and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience.
Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively and gather information from various involved parties, attention to detail, analytical skills to evaluate a claim, interpersonal skills to meet with relevant individuals including involved employees, insurance representatives and legal counsel, understand company policies and possess strong math/ Excel skills and familiarity with Access.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Collection of initial and more detailed information of reported claims.
Preliminary investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of settling insurance claims.
Maintain working knowledge of compliance and regulations of governing agencies as it applies to the claims.
Contacting insurance carrier or employee(s) for additional information.
Work closely with the Safety/Operations/Maintenance Team to collect the relevant information.
Determining whether the insured's policy covers the claimed loss.
Conferring with legal counsel as needed.
Supports Regulatory Compliance issues.
Provide Director of Risk Management with weekly safety support.
Respond to time-sensitive messages from coworkers or legal counsel in a timely manner.
Report any major issues/concerns to the Director of Risk Management immediately.
Assist the Director of Risk Management with specified assignments.
Physical Requirements:
o Will be required to sit for long periods.
o Will be required to talk on the telephone constantly.
o Will be required to perform general office tasks.

) o Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Certificate Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance related work experience, proficiency in Microsoft word, Outlook, Access, and Excel.
